Helping young people learn to love stories is one of my greatest passions. It drives me to write award-winning young adult novels —— and to maintain a dedicated tutoring practice.
Besides my experience as a published author, my credentials include:
Weekly tutoring at a public high school in Washington, DC
Leading writing workshops for DC-based students twice a week
Certified employment clearance from the DC Public School system
Presentations and workshops for students in grades 5-11
An MFA in creative writing from the University of Nevada, Reno
Graduate-level training in pedagogy, focused on language arts
Undergraduate degree with honors from Columbia University
An SAT score of 2330 out of 2400 (800 in reading and writing)
