How about a lil’ third person . . .

Abby White is the author of D.J. Rosenblum Becomes the G.O.A.T., which won the 2026 Sydney Taylor Book Award. She earned her MFA in creative writing from the University of Nevada, Reno at Lake Tahoe, where she now teaches. A proud native of Shaker Heights, OH, Abby also leads writing workshops for children and tutors public high school students in her adopted home of Washington, DC.

When she's not writing, you can find Abby reading, sipping tea at a coffee shop, or talking about elephants. Her second novel, Shosh vs. the Sun —— a YA low fantasy about a Jewish lesbian who can talk to ghosts —— is forthcoming from Levine Querido (FALL '27).

Fun Facts:

• I wrote my first “book” at age 7: The Lion Girl. It followed a girl who could transform into… I think you can guess.

• My friends know me for my baking —— especially challah and cookies. I’ve sent them across continents!

• I’m obsessed with elephants. On my first book tour, in 2025, I saw 11 baby elephants across the United States!
